Fall Polish Choices

Its time for a blog post. I have a few photos piling up and so here's a few that I have been wearing. Some of these have already been on my Fashion Blog but sometimes the posts on Meadowtree Style get so long that I just don't want to any something else. None of these colors are "just releases" because I was on a polish no buy for about a year. So here we go................

Nubar's Forest. Forest is from their Going Green collection. Unfortunately, Nubar has fallen on hard times and is no longer producing polish. Fortunately, Amazon has an amazing amount of Nubar for sale.

Dollish Polish's The Witching Hour was from the 2016 A Box Indie. I got it from a stash sale on Facebook. Although meant for Halloween, with its green base I love it for Fall in general.

Can I say anymore about a england? I so love any thing Adina makes. This is Briarwood from her Burne-Jones Dream collection.

I have this Nubar on at the moment. It is Vino from their Venetian Glass series. I have the whole set and have decided that this is the month to try to wear at least half of this collection.

This is Surreal Sunset by Fingerpaints which is found at Sally's Beauty and we all probably have one of those near us somewhere. Isn't this a great duochrome. It goes from pink to gold to bronze-amazing!

Sometimes I just have to double up! This Dazed by Cult Nails topped by Laser Jet by Cirque.

And finally, a great one from Rainbow Honey. This is Kawako from their first Yokai collection. Its been around for awhile but I hope they still have it. Their shop is closed until after Christmas.

That's it for this time around-just wanted to share some of the stash with you. I've started buying a few polishes again after taking a year off and just sent my third polish box to a local women's shelter. I do this rather than send bottles into Zoya during their Earth Day sale. I always get a plastic $1 box and make sure I have a new bottle of polish remover and cotton balls to go along with the polishes.

Downton Abby

Last weekend, we went to a Downton Abby event. Here's what I wore on my nails. The bottom coat is Excalibur by A-England and the top coat is Dazed by Cult Nails. I think the colors speak for themselves.

Witch Essentials-101:Hobby Polish Bloggers' Halloween Link Up

What does every good witch need?

Welcome to this months Hobby Polish Bloggers link up. My theme for this Halloween challenge is things that all good witches should have.
Coming up with things that a good witch needed was not hard. In fact, I had to leave one thing out.

It's all hand painted using both acrylic paints and polishes. And I made sure I used a lot of polishes. So you know I had tons of fun.

Essence's Grey-t To Be Here and Finger Paint's Amethyst Accent were the polishes I picked for the gradation on each nail. As you can see by the basket of polishes, I had fun in using everyone of these in some way.

What witch doesn't need a great broom. This one is ergonomic in that the handle is bent. It was hard to get anything on the small nail and the broom was my best bet. The polishes used: Cult Nail's Baker, Cult Nail's Inescapable and acrylic paint.

Nothing like a good shiny black cauldron boiling with squid, eyeballs and a bat wing or two. Nails Inc.'s Embankment made a perfect texture for the cauldron. I used acrylic paint for the ingredients.

I always believe in having a good black cat around, even if you are not a witch. I actually have two. The cat is painted in Cult Nail's Ignite. The moon is Nfu-Oh's Opal Glitter 39 over white acrylic and the grass is Nfu-Oh's Opan Glitter 56 over white acrylic. His eye's are Illamasqua's Radium. The whiskers are Butter London's Bobby Dazzler and inside the ears is Stripe Rite's silver glitter liner. 

You gotta to have a great hat (or hats if you are me) for the occasion. The hat is painted with Dollish Polish's The Witching Hour. The band is Zoya's Pixie Dust Stevie and the buckle is Stripe Rite's Gold striper.

And you got to have a good spell book to brush up on those forgotten recipes. The spell book is done in acrylic paint. I just couldn't see that any polish could be useful with this one.

And the one thing I had to leave out was the wand. But I will have one by Halloween.  Meanwhile, here's a small sign I found for my kitchen...think I will leave it up all year.

Putting Down Lines-Nail Art Nation's September Challenge

For September, Nail Art Nation challenged us to make a mani emphasizing lines. We could make lines anyway we wanted, free hand, tape or vinyls. I decided this was a chance for me to try some of my rarely used nail vinyls. I have plenty, but up to this point, have not had the patience to use them.

After the wide lines that were created by the vinyls I went back to what I really love which is making as thin line as I can with my Stripe Gold.

I also wanted to get in a fall mood and decided to go with taupe, brown and bronze for this mani. I added a bit of glitter with Cult Nail's Blaze because I love Blaze and try to find all the reason's I can use it as possible.

I first started out with a base coat of Orly's Nite Owl. This one has been around since 2011, I picked it up last fall and this is the first time I have gotten around to using it. Nite Owl is a taupe packed with silver shimmer.

I picked some simple curves from Nail Vinyls. I used three on each nail after I top coated my Nite Owl (Seche Vite).

After putting the nail vinyls where I wanted them, sort of at angles to each other. I sponged a gradient of Zoya's Codie and Cult Nail's Swanbourne. You really can't see the Zoya but it's there. 

Mentioned earlier, I added one of my favorite glitters Cult Nail's Blaze.

There were to many to hold so I did a group shot.

Stress Management and Mars

Hello everyone, Today I am featuring a couple of polishes that I really like. I did buy both of these items. Have you tried Ginger + Liz?  I picked a couple of their polishes up at Ulta and finally got around to using one of them. This is Stress Management which is a deep teal.

Ginger + Liz makes a top notch product for the money. Stress Management is a thick gloss cream and can be a one coat polish. You can put two coats on if you want to but if stressed for time, one coat will do the job.

This blue does live up to blue's bad rap. I did have some staining. I used Duri Rejuvacote under this mani. I must have not gotten it thick enough on my thumb. Now I am dealing with a blue stain which I can't get off with my Zoya+.

And now, moving on. I decided to do some sunburst nail art using Colores De Carol's Mars. Colores De Carol is an Indie that has quite a few collections on her site.

Mars is part of her "When The Planets Align" collection and is a multichrome holographic top coat that runs from brown with either a red or purple tint to it. My ran more reddish than purple. It could be because I picked a blue rather than a black or violet to put it on.

Put over lighter polishes, it turns into this golden reddish tan.

This is Mars on top of Cult Nail's Baker. I wore this for an extended amount of time. It is just an easy color to wear, not overblown and goes with everything. It was very nice to work in.

That's it for this round. I spent a few days wearing both of these and can say they are durable. I have bought from Colores De Carol before. She has promp service and excellent quality polishes. I highly recommend her.

Pick N Mix-Geometrical Design With Blue, Green and Yellow

Hello on the cold, cold Sunday. Or at least it is here. It's 23* with a strong wind chill...Brrrrrrr. I haven't been out yet but need to feed my ducks and chickens. My darling husband did a big favor for me and fed my Alpacas<3.

On with the challenge. I am very late with it this week and almost didn't do anything. But I hate being a quitter and someday I may quit but I guess not today.

The promps were geometrical nails with green, blue and yellow. Mondrian had been back in my mind all week. I did try some stamping but didn't like it. Out came the paint brushes. 

I know that Mondrian has been done a lot, but this is my Mondrian! 

I used four polishes on this one. The base is Color Club's Look Don't Tusk.  The fill in colors are Illamaqua's Radium, Cult Nails' You're My Dandelion and Cult Nails' Nakizzle's Sizzle.

Here is one of Mondrian's later styles. I don't know if most people are familiar with this softer more painterly style that he later developed. When I would teach Mondrian to my 1st graders, I would always start out with the more recognized styles and then would finish up with some paintings of this style.

Three From Cult Nails:Subline, Inescapable and Wanna Be

Cult Nail came out with their  I'm Not Gone, Girl I'm Here! Collection last October.  

When I saw Wanna Be, I knew that for that polish alone, this was a collection that would soon find a home in my stash.

Wanna Be

For me this is the star of the group. Wanna Be is a muted red/pink tone with copper and gold glitter. It is an ever changing lacquer, depending on the angle and lighting. The beauty of this one can't be shown in just one photo.

Macro Time

Inescapable

Inescapable is a brown jelly with copper/pink shifting glitter. The glitter is larger and makes this one quite a show stopper.

I was playing around with a mirror shot for this next one. For some reason, the name of the polish made me want to try something a tad different.

Sublime

Sublime can be best described as an red with orange overtones. It is still too red to be called red-orange and is a very strong color. 

That's a wrap for this round. These three polishes are a group worth buying. If I had to go with just one, I would go with Wanna Be. I now have twenty two Cult Nails. Did anyone else get this collection and which is your favorite? I really am interested in what people like.

I have raved about them so much that my daughter took Inescapable home to wear for a while. I sort of have a lending polish library for my two daughters. They don't complain!

My Mystery Cult Nail Package

Earlier this month, Cult Nails did something that I just couldn't resist; a mystery collection of three lacquers. I love Cult Nails and had great faith in their taste. Here is what arrived yesterday.

FLASH is a pure green cream-At this time of the year I would say it is the  Christmas Green.

LIME LIGHT consist of small blue, magenta and micro gold glitter. I think it would look great on top of Flash for Christmas day and might just try that.

DAZED-This seems to be a night time blue sky shimmer. It reminds me of a 

clear cold winter sky at midnight. 

So this actually seems to be a Christmas collection incognito. Well that is in my opinion, of course. When I wear these, I well let you know. Right now, busy with family and Christmas stuff.  Have a great Holiday! Terri

New Collection To Pre-Order From Cult Nails

 Let me say up front, I am doing this post because I love Cult Nails polish and want to share this new set. I am going to order it myself and just wanted to share.

Cult nails hasn't had a new collection in a while. However, this week and until the 20th their new I'm Not Gone Girl....I'm Here collection can be preordered for $24.

I probably have a red sort of like Sublime. But I won't know until I actually have it in my hands.  Inescapable and Wanna Be are the ones I am really after. Also, if you have not tried Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat, I would highly recommend it. It is my favorite.

Light And Bright Summer Greens

Before Summer was over I wanted to wear and get in some beautiful light and bright greens.

Cult Nail's Thrive

 Thrive was part of Cult Nail's Spring Radiance collection this past spring. Cult Nails had some fabulous sales this summer and I made sure I picked Thrive up. This is a light mint green with teal shimmer. On top of that it has a slight texture and dries to a waxed finish. For me, it is a classic Cult Nail look and I love it. It can still be purchased at the Cult Nail website. 

Rescue Beauty Lounge's Fire Queen

The one brand that I have been really wanting this past year has been Rescue Beauty Lounge. I finally have a few in the stash. Fire Queen was part of the Fan 2.0 collection that came out during the late fall of 2013. Fire Queen is a light jadeite cream. It's inspiration comes from the vintage green glass and  Fire King cookware of the mid-20th century. It is very unique in it shade and being Rescue Beauty Lounge it goes on 
flawlessly.  

Floss Gloss's Glowstar

 

Floss Gloss's Glowstar is a cream that reminds me of those glow in the dark stars that you buy for the kids' rooms. This is probably my favorite of the four colors presented today. Glowstar was the one polish that attracted me to Floss Gloss which was created by two art students. Floss Gloss has a very unique website to visit and see their other lacquers. 

CrowsToes' Green Thumb Of Doom

 I got Green Thumb Of Doom in an Ebay auction last winter to support dog rescue. This is from the 2013 Spring THIS collection. It is still buy-able at Llarowe. Green Thumb is a brighter green shimmer polish with green micro-flakes. In the bottle I didn't think I would like it. But on, it is an entirely different thing. The micro-flakes get a silver look about them when in the sun and it is just stunning. This one will be around for awhile. 

 Nail Art

I wanted to keep Glowstar on a little longer and so added a quick design using Nuf-oh 56. 

I hoped you enjoyed my curated light and bright greens. Usually I just pick three, but it was harder this time so four made the cut. And all four of these polishes are cruelty free. I cannot find out 100% about Nfu-Oh.
