Fall Polish Choices

Its time for a blog post. I have a few photos piling up and so here's a few that I have been wearing. Some of these have already been on my Fashion Blog but sometimes the posts on Meadowtree Style get so long that I just don't want to any something else. None of these colors are "just releases" because I was on a polish no buy for about a year. So here we go................

Nubar's Forest. Forest is from their Going Green collection. Unfortunately, Nubar has fallen on hard times and is no longer producing polish. Fortunately, Amazon has an amazing amount of Nubar for sale.

Dollish Polish's The Witching Hour was from the 2016 A Box Indie. I got it from a stash sale on Facebook. Although meant for Halloween, with its green base I love it for Fall in general.

Can I say anymore about a england? I so love any thing Adina makes. This is Briarwood from her Burne-Jones Dream collection.

I have this Nubar on at the moment. It is Vino from their Venetian Glass series. I have the whole set and have decided that this is the month to try to wear at least half of this collection.

This is Surreal Sunset by Fingerpaints which is found at Sally's Beauty and we all probably have one of those near us somewhere. Isn't this a great duochrome. It goes from pink to gold to bronze-amazing!

Sometimes I just have to double up! This Dazed by Cult Nails topped by Laser Jet by Cirque.

And finally, a great one from Rainbow Honey. This is Kawako from their first Yokai collection. Its been around for awhile but I hope they still have it. Their shop is closed until after Christmas.

That's it for this time around-just wanted to share some of the stash with you. I've started buying a few polishes again after taking a year off and just sent my third polish box to a local women's shelter. I do this rather than send bottles into Zoya during their Earth Day sale. I always get a plastic $1 box and make sure I have a new bottle of polish remover and cotton balls to go along with the polishes.

Monochromatic-Hobby Polish Bloggers' November Link Up

Hello Nailistas and welcome to this months Hobby Polish Bloggers link up. 

Our November challenge was to create a monochromatic design. Monochromatic is a piece that has only shades and tints of one hue. 

It seems that I am still in a brown frame of mind and although, first thinking I was going to do blues, I got drawn to all my browns.
I went with a pretty graphic type mani using nail vinyls. 

The base is done in Mineral Fusion's Pretty Penny. After applying the nail vinyls, I created a sponged design using Rainbow Honey's Oni and Zoya's Codie.

Hello All You Nailistas!

Today I am doing another one of my Stash Swatches. I love doing my Pinterest Boards and tI am finding photos that I never posted and polishes I really want to wear. And today I have two perfect ones for Fall.

First up, I have Seche's Aristocrat. I got this on sale at Ulta last year. Seche still makes colored polishes but unfortunately this beauty is no longer in their line. But never fear, Ebay and Amazon always comes to the rescue.

Aristocrat is a dark purple with color shifting shimmer. It's quite the sophisticated lady. I can't remember where I wore it this Fall, but remembering having it on for quite a while.

Next up is Rainbow Honey's Oni which was part of their The Yokai collection. As I remember, this was the first full size bottle of RH (but not the only Yokai I finally owned-I love this collection) that I bought and this probably the first brown I ever owned. It is a smooth finish that is infused with small gold gold glitter. 

You have not ever tried Rainbow Honey, I would suggest trying one of The Yokai.

July Round Up

Today's post is a roundup of the my nails from July. 

 I started the month out with OPI's Elephantastic Pink layered with Rainbow Honey's Hanami. This was the only Throwback Thursday I did for the month.

Then it was time for a July 4th design. Took this quick pic with my Iphone.
They are both Zoya (Liberty and Red Door Red).

Next, I used some of my Zoya's Pixie Dusts. This is Stevie.

Time for the Hobby Polish Bloggers July Link Up. This month it was Starry Night Sky.

I decideded to try some of my Salon Perfects. I really didn't care for their quality to much although I really like these two colors; Bellini and 
Flamingo Flair. 

  
Next came some free brushing with Signet Nails. Lauren closed shop which was very sad for me. I love her polishes. 

A chalkboard design using Signet Nails again. This polish was graphite infused. Totally cool in my eyes. One of the more original ideas I've seen. Those are yoga poses if you can tell.

A gradient, yes, using Signet Nails.

Next, I went back to wearing a Pixie Dust. This is Arabella.

The last mani of the month was another Signet Nail one. This time I used Witches In Stitches and Violet Femme.

Happy Valentine To Me From Rainbow Honey

Hello, one and all!
* 2/15-Just a note. I found out that this was the biggest preorder Rainbow Honey ever had and in fact sold out during the preorder. It does help to be on their mailing list to get deals like this.

Well, it has been forever and a day since I ordered anything from Rainbow Honey. They were the first non drugstore brand I purchased back in the early days. The last thing I bought for myself was the Equestrian mini collection. 

So when I got an email from them (I make sure I stay on their newsletter list) telling about their Valentine surprise box, I jumped. The email assured me that for $30 and free shipping, I would be getting at least $65 in product and I was going to love everything in the box. I took the chance and am I happy I did.

It's obvious by my top two photos, I am going to start with the two full size bottles of polish that Rainbow Honey made for this box. The bubblegum pink cream is Lady In Pink. This is the first straight up cream that I have ever had from them. It's not too thick and very opaque after two coats. It's very pretty and I will have to say I am warming up to wearing pink and this one is gorgeous for V-Day

 The top photo is the companion glitter topper Imaginary Buttons. It looks like pastry perfection. That has to be some of the best icing I have every seen!

Cioccolato Fragola Sugar Lip Scrub-chocolate and strawberries flavored. I have never tried a lip scrub before. But this is yummy stuff and so I am adding it to my routine. 

Cioccolato Fragola Lip Balm-Rainbow Honey lip balms are exceptional and this one with it's Italian chocolate strawberries flavor is delicious.

Nail Honey Body Lotion-Also back by popular demand. You want to eat this scent. It reminds me vanilla sugar cookies. This lotion also aloe in it, a big plus for me. 

Nail Honey Scented Hand Soaps-cute guest soaps

Valentine's Day Cake Pop-It's peeking in at the very bottom right hand corner and only lasted long enough to get into the photograph (and it about didn't make that). I love cake pops and this one was no exception.

And I am closing with a shot of the cute soaps.

Pick N Mix #12-Crinkly Tape And A Glitter Topper

For week twelve of The Crumpet's 52 Week Pick N Mix, I have combined the two promps of crinkly tape and glitter. If you looks closely at masking tape, it has a small amount of texture so that was crinkly enough for me. 

This is not a design, it is just me showing my favorite glitter of all time. It is Koi Pond by Rainbow Honey. Koi Pond was part of the original Sakura Matsuri Collection. The only polish they still make from this collection is Sakura Matsuri, the namesake. All the others have been discontinued. 

It is topping Aqua Lilly Beetle Juice by Models Own.

Zoya And Rainbow Honey Mani

This is a re-post from The MeadowTree Journal. It was originally published 2/7/13.

It was time to play with some of my great deals that I got in January. I decided to layer two polishes: Caitlin by Zoya and An Element Of Magic  by Rainbow Honey (from their Equestria collection). This is what it makes it so fun for me; creating something original out of what you have. The camera does not do this combo justice. I hated taking if off, but a function Friday night calls for a different design.

The lineup: Zoya's Caitlin, Rainbow Honey's An Element Of Magic, and Julep's topcoat Freedom, which really dries fast.

Notes: I was interested to see what 20% Cooler looked like on light and dark bases. I used a gradient in both looks. The above photos are the results. 20% Cooler is a multi color glitter in a clear base. It is not one of my favorites. It is soon to find a new home with my daughter.

Cruelty Free Status:

Julep polishes are vegan and cruelty free. Rainbow Honey is also cruelty free.

 Pure Ice is no longer cruelty free. It was sold to Revlon which has resumed animal testing to sell in China. I no longer buy Pure Ice or Revlon products. But I will still use what I have.

Tearing Through The Polishes

The next month with be just single colors. With the exception of foils and metallics,  I add some type of topper if possible. I want to distract from the one nail that is incredible short.

Hashtag from the new Jenna Hipp "What's Hot" mini collection. I love this color. It has a brightness and cleanness about it. 

On day 2 I changed the look up with Color Club's Snowflakes from the 2012 Winter Affair Collection. Snowflakes is a flakie top coat. On top of Hashtag it flashed orange and gold. It did not take a great picture but the look was very nice and I got a few complements. So I guess that the Winter Affair can also be a Summer Fling.

Changing it up with a top coat of Nfu-Oh #54-I don't need to talk about Nfu-Oh flakies;don't need to say anything, it's Nfu-Oh

Modern Romance by Essence-part of their Colour & go series. I really like this line. The price is right and the brushes are wonderful. The bottle caps match the polish which is another plus. This particular shade was a bit thin but not bad. Modern Romance is a light peach with a pink shimmer, really quite lovely

Changing it up with Sakura Matsuri by Rainbow Honey. Sakura Matsuri is the namesake of the collection.

This is a base coat of Son Of A Gun, the first Ulta lacquer that I bought (in January-probably something psychological about me picking orange at the beginning of winter.  In the end, it is just a average orange cream.

Changing it up with an OPI vintage classic, Man Of La Mancha.  La Mancha was part of their 2003 Holiday On Broadway collection.
This one is not 3 free. Anything before '04 isn't going to be. 

And I wore two single coats. this first one I needed to do something with but it was the first polish on after I broke the nail and I really wasn't in the mood.  The metallic shimmer needed nothing else. 

And I love this shade by Cosmetic Arts. It's a branch of Color  Club and has no name. In my stash I call it
 #14-Deep Lilac Metallic Shimmer

All of these polishes are cruelty free. The OPI was made before December, 2010.

Rainbow Honey and Wet N' Wild

Polishes: Rainbow Honey's A Little Kindness                         (Equestrian Collection)
              Wet N' Wild's Private Viewing

Notes: A Little Kindness is a rose, white, gold, and soft green glitters float in a delicate and sheer yellow base with an iridescent pink shimmer.

For me it is a perfect summer polish and looks great on a very nude base.

Private Viewing is part of a newer line from Wet N' Wild. It has the best brush I have seen. For $1.88 it's a great deal. 

This Could Be What Fairy Wings Look Like In The Early Morning Dew Light

Today I have Celesia from the Rainbow Honey's Equestria collection. This polish has to be one of the most ethereal polishes on the planet. I am a big fan of ABC's Once Upon A Time (a very much  fairytale show), and my first thought when I saw this polish was, "This has to be what fairy wings surely look like". 

Rainbow Honey's description of Celesia is, 

" Celestia - A sheer, sky blue polish filled with bursts multichromatic shimmer and opalescent flakes, turning every color into something new."

Well, it's all that and fairy wings too.

This look started out with an underpainting of China Glaze's Rainbow. Rainbow is a prismatic hint of all the colors (like a rainbow). I usually use it as a topcoat but thought it could contribute to the quality of light I was trying to get with this mani. 

Rainbow is one of my "original ten" polishes that I had before the "obsession" hit. Even if China Glaze doesn't make it any more, it can be found on Amazon and Ebay without a problem and for a good price. When this one runs out, I am going to restock. OK, I digress......

Back to the mani-I put on two coats of Celesia. For as heavenly as this polish looks, it was that much of a pain to apply. Bits (I assume the iridescent heavenly stuff) kept hanging off my nail or went on in clumps that needed to be smoothed out. But it all worked out in the end. 

I finished the tips of my nails with Pure Ice's Splash. Splash came in as a close second as an undercoat. But, it was just to close in the same value and color as Celesia. I still wanted to use it, so I used it for a French tip. It gives a nice finished look, and the color is so close that it is very subtle.
