Snowflakes-December Hobby Polish Blogger's December Linkup

Hi Everyone and welcome to this months Hobby Polish Bloggers link up.

Our December Link-Up is a winter/holiday theme.

I picked probably one of the most used motifs ever, snowflakes. I found this design in the December issue of Nails magazine. The design is called Winter Wonderland and can be found here

Monochromatic-Hobby Polish Bloggers' November Link Up

Hello Nailistas and welcome to this months Hobby Polish Bloggers link up.

Our November challenge was to create a monochromatic design. Monochromatic is a piece that has only shades and tints of one hue.

It seems that I am still in a brown frame of mind and although, first thinking I was going to do blues, I got drawn to all my browns.
I went with a pretty graphic type mani using nail vinyls.

The base is done in Mineral Fusion's Pretty Penny. After applying the nail vinyls, I created a sponged design using Rainbow Honey's Oni and Zoya's Codie.

Witch Essentials-101:Hobby Polish Bloggers' Halloween Link Up

What does every good witch need?

Welcome to this months Hobby Polish Bloggers link up. My theme for this Halloween challenge is things that all good witches should have.
Coming up with things that a good witch needed was not hard. In fact, I had to leave one thing out.

It's all hand painted using both acrylic paints and polishes. And I made sure I used a lot of polishes. So you know I had tons of fun.

Essence's Grey-t To Be Here and Finger Paint's Amethyst Accent were the polishes I picked for the gradation on each nail. As you can see by the basket of polishes, I had fun in using everyone of these in some way.

What witch doesn't need a great broom. This one is ergonomic in that the handle is bent. It was hard to get anything on the small nail and the broom was my best bet. The polishes used: Cult Nail's Baker, Cult Nail's Inescapable and acrylic paint.

Nothing like a good shiny black cauldron boiling with squid, eyeballs and a bat wing or two. Nails Inc.'s Embankment made a perfect texture for the cauldron. I used acrylic paint for the ingredients.

I always believe in having a good black cat around, even if you are not a witch. I actually have two. The cat is painted in Cult Nail's Ignite. The moon is Nfu-Oh's Opal Glitter 39 over white acrylic and the grass is Nfu-Oh's Opan Glitter 56 over white acrylic. His eye's are Illamasqua's Radium. The whiskers are Butter London's Bobby Dazzler and inside the ears is Stripe Rite's silver glitter liner.

You gotta to have a great hat (or hats if you are me) for the occasion. The hat is painted with Dollish Polish's The Witching Hour. The band is Zoya's Pixie Dust Stevie and the buckle is Stripe Rite's Gold striper.

And you got to have a good spell book to brush up on those forgotten recipes. The spell book is done in acrylic paint. I just couldn't see that any polish could be useful with this one.

And the one thing I had to leave out was the wand. But I will have one by Halloween.  Meanwhile, here's a small sign I found for my kitchen...think I will leave it up all year.

Well, that's it for me this time around. But as I mentioned earlier, I am taking part in The Hobby Polish Blogger's group link-up. This is a great group of bloggers on Facebook that are very supportive and always are willing to give help to other bloggers. So check some of their art out below.

Fall Leaves For Hobby Polish Bloggers

Hello and welcome to my contribution to the August Hobby Polish  Link-Up. This month's theme is Fall Leaves.

I had two polishes in mind for my base. I couldn't choose between them so used both. And they are Caité's Heirloom and China Glaze's Cabin Fever from their Fall '15 collection. I just dabbed a little bit here and a little bit there of both polishes on each nail.

I was going to practice my stamping with this mani, but when I got my polishes from Lynnderella's Labor Day sale, stamping went out the window. I had to have my leaves filled in with Positively East Fifth Street and so out came the gold Stripe Rite and I just painted some leaf shapes on, filled in with my Lynn and then added some lines on top.

I wear a lot of these colors so it wasn't hard to find an outfit to go with this design. I am sad to have to take it off.

Well, that's it for me this time around. But as I mentioned earlier, I am taking part in The Hobby Polish Blogger's group link-up. This is a great group of bloggers on Facebook that are very supportive and always are willing to give help to other bloggers. So check some of their art out below.

Neon-Hobby Polish Bloggers' August Link Up

Hello and welcome to my contribution to the August Hobby Polish  Link-Up. This month's theme is neon. This was a great theme for me because I had gotten some Signet Nail neons before Lauren closed her shop up to move on to other ventures.

I first painted a base coat and then added stamping. And finally, using a dotting tool, I added two different sizes of dots on top and then topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite.
The base for this mani is Signet Nails Stranger Danger Ranger. I then stamped a bubble and dot pattern using Slutsicle Orange. My plate was DRK's XL Designer 1 plate. This just has to be my favorite plate that I own. Finally, with dotting tools and Hashbrown No Filter, I added two different sizes of dots.

Little did we know when we voted on this theme in July that August would bring us Neon-Gate. Who knows if the Indie community will ever be the same after this. It saddens me because on of my favorite Indies just flushed themselves down the toilet. But it is what it is.

Starry Night Sky-July's HPB's Nail Link Up

Welcome to July's Hobby Polish Blogger's Nail Challenge Link UP. This months theme is Starry Night Sky. Rather than do something realistic, I tried to go with an abstract feeling of a night sky.

It ended up being a tad more complicated that I originally intended. I used six different colors and kept doing different combos on a nail wheel, until I found something that I thought really worked. And I made sure I used my two polishes that were named Starry Night.

The first three photos are just poses with a few of the polishes I used. After that, there are step by steps.

The Steps

Step 1-Not wanting a purely black sky, I first put on a couple of coats of CrowsToes' Minion.

Step 2-Next came on coat of Sinful Color's Starry Night.

Step 3-I had seen were people had painted areas when doing a Galaxy mani (although I wasn't really after that) and with a brush added a few wispy lines with Orly's Platinum.

Step 4-I decided to punch up the sparkle and added one think coat of Wet N' Wild's Hallucinate.

Step 5-Using a large dotting tool I used Starry Night by Glitzology. Glitzology is no longer in existence but she made heavy duty glitter bombs when she was. There's star glitter in here and some got on my nails, which was O.K. by me.

Step 6-Using a smaller dotting tool I made lots of small dots using Zoya's Tomoko, a Pixie Dust.

And there you have it. Here's my Nailie that I took.

Well, that's it for me this time around. But as I mentioned earlier, I am taking part in The Hobby Polish Blogger's group link-up. This is a great group of bloggers on Facebook that are very supportive and always are willing to give help to other bloggers. So check some of their art out below.

May Flowers-A Hobby Polish Link-up

It's finally here, the May Link-up for my Hobby Polish Bloggers group. The theme this month is may flowers.

To create this I used Mrs. Robinson by Color Club, Purple Petal by Salon Perfect, Seche Vite topcoat and my Molotow white acrylic pen.

Just the nails.

I took my idea from a shirt that I got on clearance at the end of last season. I didn't stay with the pink coral and  smoothed out the edges of the flowers, but the general idea is there. The little finger was just to small to get the amount of flower petals I wanted so WaaaLaa...a butterfly was born!

Two views of just Mrs. Robinson. This is a neon magenta with a satin finish. My design does have a glossy topcoat.

Well, that's it for me this time around. But I am taking part in The Hobby Polish Blogger's group link-up. This is a great group of bloggers on Facebook that are very supportive and always are willing to give help to other bloggers. So check some of their art out below.

Take care, and until next time polish on!

April Showers With Floss Gloss

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the April Hobby Polish Bloggers" April Linkup! This month our theme is April Showers. When I read this, I knew this was perfect for one of my favorite polish girls, Floss Gloss. I managed to get five different FGs in this one.

So here is the run down:

Base coat: 95% Angel
Tips: Glowstar
Flowers (interior): Lean
Dots on tips: Wet
Dots inside dots: Mrs. Tony Montana

The line and rain drops were drawn with a Molotow 1mm white acrylic paint pen.  I love that pen and use it when ever I can.

The design is pretty abstract. That's what I like. I think it is just more wearable. It's the colors these ladies make that I love and just wanted a design that these colors could just do their thing.

Above is the Floss Gloss's that I picked. From left to right: 95% Angel, Mrs. Tony Montana, Wet, Glowstar, and Lean.

This is a composite that I made and will probably put this one on Instagram.

Well, it's short and sweet today. I love these polishes. I have about a dozen and know of three more that I am eventually going to get (Dimepiece, Pony and Blood Sweat and Suede).

And as I mentioned in the beginning, I am participating in the April blog link-up of that great group I belong with, The Hobby Polish Bloggers. Check below, because there are some great nail artists in this group.

Take care, and until next time polish on!

Happy St. Patty's Day Mani With Link-Up

Hello everyone. And I hope someone is reading blogs this Sunday. I rarely post today, but I managed to get my St. Patty's day mani finished and wanted to join my Hobby Bloggers Link Up. This mani was so easy to do, but I really like it.

Step 1-I painted all my nails with Nuance's Goldstone.

Step 2-Except the ring finger, I painted all but the top 1/4" or so with Nubar's Emerald. With the gold underneath, the green really livened up!

Step 3-Using a dotting tool, I made four hearts that together look like a four leaf clover.

Step 4-When everything was dry, I went over with a coat of Nfu-Oh's 57. This just set it off. The yellow green with the gold flakies were perfect for St. Patrick's day. I think they look like gold pieces.

Well, that it for this one. There are still a few flakies at Fabalous Street. Nfu-oh was the mother of all flakies. Now that they have discontinued making them, others are trying to fill their shoes.

Macro Time

Golden Fall Leaves

Hello on a Sunday.

This is a rare one. I usually don't post on a Sunday but today is special. I am hooking up with other members of The Hobby Polish Bloggers for a "Fall Nail Linkup".

We could do anything we wanted. I chose to create a design using one of my favorite brands, Nubar. The base color of my design is Nubar's Wildlife which is a gorgeous duochrome that flashes from green to bronze.

After applying Wildlife, I stamped simple leaves using Mentality's ProsperKonad's Light Bronze and HB21 stamping plate. This provided a base of leaves.

I then painted larger outlines of leaves with my Stripe Rite gold. And that's it.

I love Nubar's Wildlife and had to throw in some extra shots.

This color is so perfect for Fall. I know it can be found on it own or with the Going Green Set that it is a part of. I will tell you I bought my set off of Ebay. I would give you a link to Nubar, but they seem to be having trouble with the site today. At least, I couldn't get anywhere on it.

The Going Green Collection

And now a word about our sponsor. I have been a member of the Facebook group Hobby Polish Bloggers for not quite a year. It's a great group of ladies and I have learned so much from the more experienced bloggers. I am so happy that we are now having a monthly blog hop.

Check down below to see some other beautiful nail art.

As usual, until we me again, take care and shine on....................
