August Notebook

Well, here I am again one month later. Here's a run down of the few manis that I did for August. Or in other words, this was my IG feed for August. If you follow me on IG, these are all review.

I started August with this flower dotticure using Signet Nails Kiss Off, Yoko 3000 and Hashbrown No Filter. It is a jelly sandwich with a design in the middle rather than glitter.

Still working with Signet Lacquers, I then did a simple design using Tainted Love and Bells And Whistles.

It's Signet Again. This is my green wrap using, New Leaf, Out Of The Woods, and Opulent Okra with some added gold with my Strip Rite.

I was on a roll last month with Signet. Lauren was closing up shop and wanted her customers to do designs if possible. This is her Opal Flash over Dolf with an added top coat and studs.

This is Signet's thermal Tear The Roof Off over Dolf with some added stamping.

My last Signet mani. I did classical Greek vases using Lapis Lazuli over Yoko 3000.

Took some time off with Zoya's new Naked Manicure system.

O.K., I got bored and ended up topping it with Nfu-Oh'sFlakie #48

I started trying a new nail prep this month from Sallys.

And talk about new. Kim Michelle Colour has yet to release their first line of colors although she has some nail care items. I LOVE her cuticle balm in the Honeysuckle scent! This is her Teal Me Your Fantasy.

I needed a color to match this top which has a very colorful dragon embroidered on the front. The perfect match was Priti NYC's Wedgewood Blue.

My neon mani for the Hobby Polish Blogger's August Linkup. Again, I am using Signet polishes. The are Stranger Danger Ranger (yellow base), Slutsicle Orange, and Hashbrown No Filter.

I then went to a copy cat mani from The Polish Dude and paired KB Shimmer's A Pigment Of My Imagination with my Starbucks duochrome drink cup.

A fashion shot of A Pigment with one of my B Makowsky purses and one of my rings.

My final mani was a Galaxy using all Indies for Nail Art Nation's Indie week challenge. I use the following:
Signet Nails: Dolf, Tainted Love and Yuko3000
Ruby White Tops: Ashley Rose (thermal( Chai Maintenance, Misfit Toys and Here Piggy Piggy
My-Stash Lacquer: Shaken Not Stirred

Well that's it. For me, this was a lot in one month. I hope you enjoyed my photo. So until next month, Take care and shine on. Terri.

Neon-Hobby Polish Bloggers' August Link Up

Hello and welcome to my contribution to the August Hobby Polish  Link-Up. This month's theme is neon. This was a great theme for me because I had gotten some Signet Nail neons before Lauren closed her shop up to move on to other ventures.

I first painted a base coat and then added stamping. And finally, using a dotting tool, I added two different sizes of dots on top and then topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite.
The base for this mani is Signet Nails Stranger Danger Ranger. I then stamped a bubble and dot pattern using Slutsicle Orange. My plate was DRK's XL Designer 1 plate. This just has to be my favorite plate that I own. Finally, with dotting tools and Hashbrown No Filter, I added two different sizes of dots.

Little did we know when we voted on this theme in July that August would bring us Neon-Gate. Who knows if the Indie community will ever be the same after this. It saddens me because on of my favorite Indies just flushed themselves down the toilet. But it is what it is.

Well, that's it for me this time around. But as I mentioned earlier, I am taking part in The Hobby Polish Blogger's group link-up. This is a great group of bloggers on Facebook that are very supportive and always are willing to give help to other bloggers. So check some of their art out below.

So until next time, take care and shine on!

July Round Up

Today's post is a roundup of the my nails from July.

I started the month out with OPI's Elephantastic Pink layered with Rainbow Honey's Hanami. This was the only Throwback Thursday I did for the month.

Then it was time for a July 4th design. Took this quick pic with my Iphone.
They are both Zoya (Liberty and Red Door Red).

Next, I used some of my Zoya's Pixie Dusts. This is Stevie.

Time for the Hobby Polish Bloggers July Link Up. This month it was Starry Night Sky.

I decideded to try some of my Salon Perfects. I really didn't care for their quality to much although I really like these two colors; Bellini and
Flamingo Flair.

Next came some free brushing with Signet Nails. Lauren closed shop which was very sad for me. I love her polishes.

A chalkboard design using Signet Nails again. This polish was graphite infused. Totally cool in my eyes. One of the more original ideas I've seen. Those are yoga poses if you can tell.

A gradient, yes, using Signet Nails.

Next, I went back to wearing a Pixie Dust. This is Arabella.

The last mani of the month was another Signet Nail one. This time I used Witches In Stitches and Violet Femme.

And that is that and take care. Terri

Putting On The Bells And Whistles With Freshmaker

Hello on a Sunday and Happy Mother Days. Today I have my favorite Tiffany blue polish and one of my favorite silver toppers. The two I am wearing are, Freshmaker from Jenna Hipp's First collection two summers ago and Bells And Whistles from Signet Nails.

Freshmaker is a clean light blue green. By that I feel that it doesn't have black or a complementary color to dull it or make it dusty. That in turn makes it look fresh and my favorite of all my blue greens. It's quality could be better. The first coat always looks pretty ragged but after the second or third, it looks good.

Bells And Whistles is a metallic silver shard glitter. This polish is amazing. It goes on like molten silver and is as smooth as ice. It had been one of my lemmings for a while and I finally broke down and got it.  As you see from the first and second photos, I first just had it on all my nails tips but finally did an accent nail. And it was so easy to take off, not like usual glitter.

And unlike gold shards, this silver reflects the colors around it. You can see this in the macro. The silver has a slight blue green tint to it, especially in the lower left hand corner. And notice how the shards lay on top of each other like scales.

There is a problem with Freshmaker though. It is only a mini and I am going to run out of it someday soon. I will not pay $7 for it on Ebay.

I have been doing some window shopping and think there are two I might be able to work with. Essie's new spring collection has Blossom Dandy. I will actually take my bottle of Freshmaker to Ulta to compare.

And Lauren of Signet Nails is coming out with Mind Beach,  a blue green that is slightly darker and not as glossy, but I could easily tweak it to get it the light shade I want and a top coat always fixed the dull. She actually had a comparison of the two on Instagram under lalanail.

And here were just a few colors in the running with Freshmaker for this mani. I just thought it stood out from the crowd.

From left to right: Bells And Whistles, Mermaid's Tears, In De-Nile, Putting On Airs, I have An Herring Problem and Freshmaker

I wore this mani for five days. In fact, it was last weeks Monday Mani on IG and Facebook

That's it for this round. So until we meet again, take care and polish on!

Tainted Love by Signet Nails

Hello and how is everyone doing? Are you ready for some gorgeous blue! I am ALWAYS ready for some gorgeous blue on my nails!

Today, I am wearing Tainted Love by Signet Nails. Tainted Love is part of Signet Nails' Only Love collection that also includes Violet Femme and Out of the Woods.

I will tell you up front that I have a special affection for this one. I almost won Lauren's Valentine polish naming with the song title of Tainted Love. I am sure all of us remember some cover version of the song.

She liked the name and although my suggestion didn't win the red polish (that became Kiss Off), she decided to make a new blue using my suggestion.

As you can see by my photos, Tainted Love is a dark sultry blue with scattered holo. And it is a jelly, which excited me because I have a very limited collection of jellies.

In two coats I achieved the opacity that I wanted. In the nail art section, I first put on my base of metallic silver and the blue covered it up just fine.

When dried, the surface does have a slight textural finish. I solved this with two coats of Pure Ice's Girl on the Run topcoat.

Very simple nail art using Tainted Love with Spa Ritual's Silver Shimmer

Had to put in a bottle shot.

Are there any other addicted blue lovers out there and what do you think about this one? I follow a great blog (although she is taking a vacation at the moment) that focuses on blue polish. You should check out Mystery Loves Blue for some beautiful polishes and photos.

Also don't forget to check out Signet Nails' ETSY shop.

That's all I have for today. Take care and stay warm (it's still really cold here).

Pick N Mix-Purple and Hearts

Hello, this is a busy week. I think this is post #3 for me this week. I guess Valentine week will do that for you.

Today is the 20th edition of the Pick N Mix and the theme is Purple and hearts. This must be a nod to Valentine Day.

I went for hand painting again. I turned my hearts into notes and added a few dots.

I used one of my favorite Indie Brands, Signet Nails for the base coat. This is one of her new releases, Violet Femme. Violet Femme is a lavender sheer jelly base with flashes of amethyst shimmer.

A closer look at Violet Femme (used in another mani).

My thumb-I wanted to see if I could paint a Treble clef.

The other colors that I used were L.A. Colors Reckless and Stripe Rite Silver.

That wraps this session up and so until I am here again, take care...............................Terri

And as usual this is a link up so check out the other cool Valentine manis below.

Love Is In The Air-Favorite Technique

I am taking part in the "Love Is In The Air" Nail Challenge. Today's theme is our favorite nail art technique. I picked a jelly sandwich. I think I get more bang for my buck when I do this. I can used a lot of different glitters together and can make a subtle but pretty cool look (OK, that's IMO)!

My main base polish is Kiss Off by Signet Nails. Lauren did this as part of a trio for an anti-love set.

I almost won the contest naming this one, which is why I have a bottle. Lauren is a sweetie. She sent me this bottle and then took my suggestion (Tainted Love) and created a beautiful blue jelly which I now own!

Kiss Off is a deep pink (three steps away for red to my eyes) jelly. I had a lot of fun with this mani. First, I put on two coats of Kiss Off, then a layer of holographic glitter (a Jenna Hipp mini). Around the top and sides, I added a layer of a-England's Merlin for an extra spark. Lastly, I added a third coat of Kiss Off

With just one coat on top, the holo still works great. This has to be one of my favorite jelly sandwich looks I have done. Do you like to make jelly sandwiches?-I guess literally or figuratively?

That's it for tonight, signing off................Terri

Like Love

Good Evening,

This is a rare time for me to post. But this one just wouldn't wait!

I fell in love with one of Lynnderella's Valentine numbers and had to have it. I only have four of hers (including this one). There isn't going to be a lot of talk, just pictures.

I just love the neon colors of this polish and it can look great on about any color.

This is Like Love with Pritti NYC's Lady Betty Balfour and Signet Nail's Violet Femme.

I wanted separate bottle shots. Pritti NYC is a great polish and I don't see it around on blogs to much. But I know they do a lot of New York Fashion Week.  Priti NYC can be found here. Lady BB is described as a deep violet with a opalescent finish. It seems to be a tad streaky in a camera shot but I really don't notice that when I wear it. And I like the shimmer which Priti NYC doesn't mention.

And now I have Signet Nail's Violet Femme. I will say up front that this one is going to get a post of it's own. I have become a "Lauren" fan. She is out of Mississippi and has a creative spark and sense of humor that I like. Signet Nails can be found on ETSY

Violet Femme is a lavender sheer jelly base with flashes of amethyst shimmer. It is one of her latest. Can we say gorgeous? As I mentioned, this one will be on by itself after this week is over.

Bottle Shot-Like Love

Macro-Like Love Over Lady Betty Balfour

That's it....I hope your enjoyed this post. I just love  Like Love. What do you think? And do you find a Lynn that you just can't live without?

Sleep tight,  Terri
