Many Splendors and Boudicca

I have two colors that I have been wearing the past two weeks. First up is Rescue Beauty Lounge's Many Splendors for their last collection before closing doors. Like many others, I picked up a lot for myself. Unlike others, I am not selling them on Ebay for exorbitant prices.

Many Splendors is a matte textured polish with gold glitter. Sounds like Zoya's Pixie Dust doesn't it. It looks likes Pixie Dust. It made me remember that I don't have Dahlia (which has silver glitter) from the first Pixie Dust collection.

Next I wore Illamasqua's Boudicca for a future post on my Style Blog MeadowTree. This is an intense red orange with orange and pink micro-flakes. I you live in the states, just wait until Hautelook has a Illamasqua feature and pick some up there. When they have them, everything is half price.

That's it for today. Take care, Terri

Two From Illamasqua-Swatching My Stash

Hello Nailistas!

I'm back with another stash swatch. This time it is two of my Illamasquas. I only started getting Illamasqua when HauteLook (which is Nordstrom The Rack) started offering them a few times.
It takes a while to get the order. And you need to get to the sale pretty early, because things get sold out quick. People just love Illasmasqua, especially when it's half price.

The first photo is in natural light and the second photo is in my light box.

Scarab came out in 2010 and still in the lineup so I figure it has to be a classic. This is a deep vampy ruby red that has an incredible rich shimmer. It has a tad brown tone to it and has that dark at the corners mysterious look. This is one of the best reds I have. Love It!

Lynnderella's Mr. Darcy and Illamasqua's Cameo

Today I have Lynnderella's Mr. Darcy over Illamasqua's Cameo.

I like doing nail art, stamping and all that stuff that goes on with nail design. But my favorite thing it to come up with different polish combination with base and toppers to get a different look with the lacquers. I think that was what first drew me in. And I probably have the most fun with the few Lynnderellas I own.

Mr. Darcy was part of the 2013 Once Upon A Prince collection.

Mr. Darcy is made up of multiple shades of gray, periwinkle, lavender, gun metal, black and a tad of red glitters. I had wanted this one for a while and finally got it when it went on sale for $12. Lynnderella is having a few sales now on both her Ebay and StoreEnvy shops.

I bought four Illamasquas from Hautelook earlier this Summer. Cameo is a Periwinkle blue. This is easily a one coater. Illasmasqua is now available again in the United States through through their UK website. There's free shipping with $75 and standard delivery of $7.50 for less than. Of course, when I got mine through HauteLook, they were half price and that would be the way to go (if they ever offer them again).

And, with a Lynn, I have to do a macro because there is so much going on with this polish. But that is usually the case with her creation. If you love glitters, she just can't be beat. Although, I won't go for any of those high rolling auctions that go over at her Ebay store.

I wanted to do a dupe comparison for this one, since Illamasqua is so expensive. I have two other Periwinkles; China Glaze's Secret Peri-wink-le and Julep's Isabela. I would have to say that Isabela is dead on. You can find Isabela around but it still seems to be around $10. I got mine originally in a Maven box but I did find some for around $10 on Ebay. Cameo is $18.

Secret Peri-wink-le is just a tad dustier, as seen in this trio comparison.

That it for this round, just two great polishes that I think go great together. What do you think? Take care and think Shiny.    Terri

Pick N Mix-Geometrical Design With Blue, Green and Yellow

Hello on the cold, cold Sunday. Or at least it is here. It's 23* with a strong wind chill...Brrrrrrr. I haven't been out yet but need to feed my ducks and chickens. My darling husband did a big favor for me and fed my Alpacas<3.

On with the challenge. I am very late with it this week and almost didn't do anything. But I hate being a quitter and someday I may quit but I guess not today.

The promps were geometrical nails with green, blue and yellow. Mondrian had been back in my mind all week. I did try some stamping but didn't like it. Out came the paint brushes.

I know that Mondrian has been done a lot, but this is my Mondrian!

I used four polishes on this one. The base is Color Club's Look Don't Tusk.  The fill in colors are Illamaqua's Radium, Cult Nails' You're My Dandelion and Cult Nails' Nakizzle's Sizzle.

Here is one of Mondrian's later styles. I don't know if most people are familiar with this softer more painterly style that he later developed. When I would teach Mondrian to my 1st graders, I would always start out with the more recognized styles and then would finish up with some paintings of this style.

Sticking this one here so I can grab it for IG

So there you go, #21 is done! Take care and stay
warm.
